HP TouchPad webOS 9.7-inch . As the Palm was going to be subsumed its mobile operating system was great in the eyes of something much larger, much larger than the tiny phones, it was flashed on. Things like printers and desktop computers and laptops, but for his first real trip outside of a phone, it has a high task: competition in the brutally thick shelf space.

His weapon is the touchpad, a tablet of 9.7 inches of HP, which was officially in February, and will be available July 1 (if you do not find it earlier) - $ 499.99 for the model 16 GB $ 599.99 for 32GB. This is exactly on par with WiFi iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1, the current kings of the right pills. Are offspring of Palm-size really more what it takes to hold on to that price, or is it just a boy who grew up pretending out of his pants? Read on to find out.
Performance and battery life
We're having a bit of a hard time quantifying the performance of the TouchPad because, well, it should be fast with its 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor paired with 1GB of RAM, but too often left us waiting. Bootup, for example, takes 1:15, which is an eon compared to 30 seconds or so on both the Galaxy Tab and the iPad 2. Similarly, we ran our freshly-booted TouchPad through the SunSpider JavaScript Benchmark and netted a 3,988ms result. That again compares unfavorably to a 2,213ms on the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and a nearly identical 2,173ms on the iPad 2.
